We cannot bear fruit by our own efforts. Bearing fruit is a result of a revelation of the love of God and of what Jesus has done for us freely.

Summary

It is very important to distinguish between Scripture (the letter of the Word) and the Living Word (what God wants to say through Scripture).All scripture has to be interpreted in the light of the life, obedience, death, resurrection and return of Jesus. When we interpret Scripture, the Word we find in it should always be one of "no condemnation". The Bible is not about what we must do for God, but about how much God loves you and me, and what He did for us!
